Master Naturalist Volunteer Program

The Triangle region is one of the fastest growing ares in North Carolina, adding approximately 300 new residents each day.  There is an urgent need for stewardship of our remaining natural areas and environmental organizations depend on dedicated volunteers to carry out their missions. The Master Naturalist program, first launched in Texas in the 1990s and now active in 45 states, provides robust training and a mechanism to connect well-qualified volunteers with environmental organizations.

This project seeks to build upon the successful Extension Master Gardener Volunteer model to create a Master Naturalist Volunteer program that can provide trained volunteers to partner organizations to help lead and further their stewardship, educational outreach, and citizen science projects.

Classes will be held on Mondays, 9:00-noon, beginning January 22, 2024, ending April 22, 2024.
